Indivisa Manent (Undivided We Remain.)

Last week of the june holidays was spent in school being a facilitator for a 5 days 4 nights leadership camp called "Lasallian Leadership Training camp".

A combined leadership camp with participants from stpats,sji and sji international.
Was the main facil for group "ALBAN" from house "Service" together with kendrick.
It was totally awesome, Organizing team has been working on it since the start of this year and was glad that our efforts has finally paid off.

Group Alban conprises of -
Jason, kendrick, Justin, Jared, Manish, Hariz, Jeremish, Luhan, Terence, Clarence, Zhi yoong.

Day one practically started with an activity called "W**k The T**k".
Basically it was a walk which required participants to walk from sji to stpats.
It was a test of teamwork where new friendships and trust were forged.
And it was also during this activity that my new name which would help me get through this camp was called "Shadow". Sounds childish right? But anyway it was cool.

Next few days comprised of lectures for them and activities such as dragon-boating and ropes course. I was the only facil who went to do the ropes course with my group without an indemnity form. Lucky i survived if not i would be a real goner.
My bunk was at the third floor, wasnt so bad. Beats walking up to the fourth floor.

Dragon-boating was at kallang. Wasn't supposed to join my group for it as I let kendrick took over. But well Edmund INVITED me to join his boat with his group has there was an empty space. So well, Iwent for it. Was awesome even though it was the second time I'm doing it during this holidays. It was great to watch my group grow and bond during these few days. Kendrick and I would go through the day activities with them at night and teach them stuff which they can relate to their life and their role as a student leader in their respective schools.

Affirmation was different from last year where they had "mail boxes". This time it was manual delivery. I received a 6 page affirmation slips from one of my group mates, was shocked cause don't think anyone received such a long one before. And during one of the last few nights, i went to browse through a participant's journal, And it reminded me of a "plan" I had with a friend. hmm..

Went to visit a moral home for the aged on day 4 with Matthias's group. Was very meaningful and that was where my knowledge of hokkien kicked in. Did some morn' exercises with the folks and sang karaoke. Sang a song called "Lemon Tree", the music video was showing a couple making out as we were singing. Thinking that it would arouse the old folks, the "in-charge" of the centre went to switched the tv off for that particular song. Was soo funny man.

Solidarity was at night, made the participants felt that a difference what one man can do was able change the world. And that if we could open our ees and see, there are people out there who are living a worse off life than us. Played a drug addict, whole body went numb in the process. SUCKED.

By day 5 the amount of members in my group dropped to almost half due to the other activities they have outside of camp but the team spirit was still there.

The morning run on day 5 proved it. I still remember during our first morning run, everyone were so divided and we came in second last out of the whole lot. But on day 5, everyone was so united that we came in third out of the sixteen groups. Was really proud of them.

This camp really brought back great memories of last year when I was a participant and also helped my think over some stuff and set me back on the right track where I now know what I want. Never thought a year could pass that fast.

Anyway just wanted to say...LLTC07 rocked!!!
